So, for those of you that don’t know, I commute with my dad up to Bellingham (live in Seattle) to work four days a week. Today, unfortunately, about 20 miles outside of Bellingham near Alger, we broke down. The engine overheated and we were fortunate to be right near a rest stop when that little red light went on.
After about a half an hour of debating what to do, we decided to chance it and head back on the side roads to Seattle. Unfortunately, the car didn’t want to do that, about 2 miles down the back way (I think it was 99 or something) it started to overheat again, we pulled over and as soon as we did that the engine died again. So much for our brilliant plan, my dad then called AAA and we were towed home by a hero named Carl. Actually a very nice man and didn’t seem too upset about his unplanned trip to Seattle.
Here are some pictures of the ordeal; I had to take a few because the place we broke down at was crazy. I’m not sure what I liked the most-the upside down refrigerator or the building filled with parrots squawking.
My dad waiting for the tow truck.
Said refrigerator, a rundown basketball hoop, and boat (apparently for sale, if you’re interested).
Building with parrots.
Being towed away.
